This is a lovely old house in beautiful surroundings, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The housekeeper was kind and helpful, the Aga very cosy and the beds comfortable and clean. A very old, lovely cottage in the heart of Corfe Castle. Location is brilliantly central, but it is on a main road and the parking is 7 mins walk away which didn't make it ideal for us with a toddler and an older person. Very charming and large garden. The cottage fronts on to a main road with double yellow lines but unloading was no issue. The car parking permits were not only useful but essential. The large back garden is great and backs on to a field - good for dog walking and a short cut to the playground for children. It is not far to Studland Bay or Swanage (if you go by train, keep the ticRead morekets and you can get a 10% discount at The Greyhound). Lovely old cottage, with loads of character, plenty of space and in pristine condition. Beautiful garden. All equipment which you might need for a self catering holiday is available. It's a 3/4 minute walk to four different pub/restaurants, many cafes and craft shops, a convenience store and, of course the castle. The 2 parking permits are importanRead moret as there's very limited parking on the road itself; the parking slots are about a 3 minute walk from the house. Hide

Nice house if a little rough round the edges. A tap broke during our visit and others were on their way to failing. The Aga is a waste of space and very unsustainable being on all the time and not easy to cook on. The road is a bit noisy from 6:30am till 9pm though we were out a lot so it wasnt a real bother. The club next door was a bit loud on SaRead moreturday night but again only if you were on the patio or had the windows open at the back. For the money Id look elsewhere as not worth 2000+. Hide
