A charming former mill dating back to the 1800s, offering a contemporary home-from-home in the heart of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within easy reach of the Jurassic Coast.

One of four cottages located within a former cider and flax mill in a picturesque valley. Enjoy peace and tranquillity, surrounded by winding paths, a butterfly meadow and a gently flowing stream. A welcoming country pub is within 1 mile and a handy shop is within 2 miles. With plenty of open countryside on your doorstep, you can spend your days uncovering the picturesque walking trails or head to the coast. Just 6.5 miles away sits the attractive West Bay, home to the wonderful Golden Cap beach, rugged cliff tops and a collection of shops and eateries. Venture a little further afield and travel 16 miles to arrive in Lyme Regis, with its museums and the rocky beachfront of Monmouth Beach.

Step through the stable door into a light-filled double aspect open-plan space compromising of the kitchen, lounge and dining area. Complete with original features including vaulted double height ceilings and a traditional wood burner, this space is all on one level and perfect for the chillier months. The contemporary kitchen comes with all the mod-cons you’ll need to cook up a storm before enjoying your creations in the dining area. Fire up the wood burner and retreat to the lounge area to unwind in front of the Smart TV or lose yourself in a read from the bookshelf. Of an evening, retreat to the restful en-suite double bedroom (new mattress for 2022) boasting plush furnishings, a double height ceiling and tiled floor, to offer a peaceful night’s sleep. The en-suite shower room is a wonderful refresher following a day along the coast.

There’s much to be appreciated outside also. Stepping out into the private and enclosed lawned garden, there are two terraces with seating areas and a BBQ – perfect for al fresco dining during the summer months. Venture over the small footbridge crossing the stream and enjoy the sloping communal gardens too which boast winding paths, a butterfly meadow and a tranquil stream (unfenced). There is off-road parking for two cars.

Idyllic peaceful rural cottage in wonderful west Dorset village. Loved staying here for five nights. Clean, superbly equipped, comfortable cottage with character.

Very quaint cottage in peaceful rural surroundings, well kept garden a pleasure to sit outside and take in a book or perhaps a bbq. Good location to visit Bridport, Lyme Regis, West Bay, Eype ETC. pub a bit of a walk and closed certain days so check before setting off, plenty of good eateries local by car.

Nice cottage with all the facilities we needed. Only drawback is that it is down a very narrow road with passing places, but it heavily used by cars and delivery vans.

The cottage was very comfortable, equipped and furnished to a very high standard . The welcome pack contained lots of good quality goodies which were appreciated. We found the cottage very dark inside due to the small windows and nearby trees so it was necessary to have lights on even on a sunny day. It was an excellent base for walking with many wRead morealks straight from the cottage, and maps and walking books were provided. Hide

The living area is rather dark due to small low level windows and the closeness of all th trees. The living area would benefit from additional light perhaps a couple of light tubes or a velux roof light /higher window in the gable end wall to allow additional light to the area.

Bramble Lodge is located in a quiet and beautiful setting. Lush trees, a babbling brook and birds singing to greet you each day. It's location down a country lane makes it an island of tranquility but it is close enough to a main road to access a variety of villages and coastal resorts without any hassle. The lodge/cottage is well equipped with gooRead mored quality white goods, furniture and crockery. Everything is well labelled and instruction books provided for appliances. The perfect retreat.
