We had a lovely stay at Haydon Barn with my young family (2 adults and 3 children aged 1-10). The cottage was very clean. If its possible to be cosy and spacious at the same time then this property ticks that box! A lovely sitting area with comfortable sofas. A well equipped kitchen and spacious dining area. Two bathrooms always handy with young chRead moreildren! Beautiful location, definitely off the beaten track. I would say a car is essential, directions were helpful and accurate. Hide

Beautiful cottage and location. So much thought and care has gone into furnishings and extras. We had a problem with the bathroom light which the owners immediately sorted out and informed us. Friendly owners and dog. Beautiful views over farm and surrounding hills. Easy access to surrounding beaches and towns. Absolutely idyllic! We will be back!

The house is lovely, very well equipped and in a very rural location. To get to the property you have to go down an un made road so if you have low suspension beware! It says it within walking distance to a pub, it is quite a walk and would be quite challenging in the dark as the roads are unlit! The location for getting to other places is ideal. MRead morey husband and daughter loved fishing in the ponds and meeting George the dog was a treat! Hide

We have been coming here for years each July. Always get a lovely welcome from the Coutts family. Cottage has mostly everything we need and in a peaceful location but minutes from the sea by car.

Lovely cottage on a working farm. Very well equipped and comfortable. Lovely country views. Little disappointed that although A35 must have been at least half a mile away you can see and hear the traffic on the top of the hill. It's not terrible, just background, but I was expecting total peace and quiet from such a remote location!

Unlike a previous slightly negative comment we no issue with the road (although a lowered suspension with the cattle grid might) and in fact this possible issue encouraged us to choose this property, as we felt this implied isolation, and we were not disappointed. The cottage was spacious and comfortable and beautifully situated on a farm at the head of a small valley above Askerswell. Opening the curtains in the morning was a delight. The potentially treacherous stairs were wisely protected by a gate, an essential precaution not just for children, but also for adults blundering around in the night! Mrs CoutRead morets was a welcoming host. Our stay was for family visiting rather than holiday, but the location so close to Bridport was excellent. Hide

Lovely cottage. Lovely location for West Dorset holiday. Only concern is if you need to use internet the max speed is about 2meg on a good day. Lovely big living space. We were six adults and plenty of room to move about.
