This inviting property occupies an idyllic setting within the pretty suburb of Upwey. A wonderful choice for walkers and those seeking a restful break, whilst being close to many popular attractions.
Upwey is 4 miles north of the vibrant town centre of Weymouth where you can take a stroll around the historic old harbour, visit Nothe Forte or enjoy the sandy beach. There is also a wide selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Those wishing to get active will find plenty to do here as the town is backed by rolling hills, with many walking routes to explore, including the South West Coast Path. Within 10 miles of the cottage there are many popular attractions such as the lighthouse at Portland Bill, Bowleaze Cove and Chesil Beach, the county town of Dorchester and picturesque village of Abbotsbury, which is home to a swannery and sub-tropical gardens.
From the roadside, a shared drive gives access to the private entrance into this detached cottage. Once inside, there is a step up into the charming country-style kitchen, which has an electric range-style oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is space for two to casually dine here. Just next door is the inviting open-plan lounge/diner. This lovely room has an open fire, TV and plenty of comfortable seating, plus a table for leisurely family meals. Winding stairs lead from here to the first floor. There are three bedrooms to chose from, a single and a double to the front of the cottage and a pretty king-size bedroom to the rear with en-suite WC and views over pastureland. There is a contemporary bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Due to the setting within the eaves there are changes of level and areas of restricted head height throughout the first floor, which only adds to its character and charm.
A door opens from the kitchen to a narrow path with a pretty chalk stream running alongside it, which gives access to the courtyard garden. There is a patio area with furniture and from here you can enjoy countryside views and the sounds of the stream. The water is shallow, but due to the uneven surfaces and proximity to the path, care should be taken. To the front of the property is ample roadside parking (subject to availability).
