Overlooking Weymouth’s picturesque harbour and with dramatic sea views, this property takes you back in time, while boasting the familiar comforts of home. The cottage is in the heart of Weymouth, a charming seaside town with award-winning sandy beaches. The town’s harbour is full of life, whether it is the fishing boats and yachts on the water or the shops, cafes and restaurants on shore. Strolling along the esplanade, you can breathe in the sea air and enjoy the stunning sweep of Weymouth Bay. A short trip to Portland (3 miles), the location of the 2012 Olympic Games’ sailing, offers great walks and a visit to the famous lighthouse at Portland Bill, as well as being the southerly start of the dramatic, 18 miles of Chesil Beach. A little further afield is beautiful Lulworth Cove and one of Dorset’s most famous landmarks, Durdle Door (15 miles).
This charming, two-bedroom period property is set on a pretty pathway, a short walk from Brewers Quay and the bustle of the harbour. At the front of the house is the cosy living room, which has a Smart TV and wood burner for chilly winter days. The hallway leads into the dining room with its large, country-style table, which has ample space for eating as a family or an intimate dinner for two. Adjacent to the dining area is the well-equipped kitchen, from which you can reach the rear garden. A convenient utility area also leads from the kitchen and gives access to a downstairs WC. Up the staircase to the first floor, you will pass the bright family bathroom to reach the two bedrooms. The master bedroom, a double, is a large, light-filled, elegant room with breathtaking sea views from the beautiful bay window. Sitting by the window with a morning coffee taking in the beauty of the harbour and the sea beyond is a perfect start to the day. The second bedroom is a twin room with 2'6" beds, full of character and overlooking the rear garden.
At the front of the cottage is a small patio planted with rose bushes, while at the rear is a south-facing courtyard garden with coastal planting and rustic garden furniture to enjoy breakfast or supper out of doors. Please note, that part of the cottage’s charm is that it faces onto a quiet pedestrian path, so parking is not possible immediately outside. However, parking is available on nearby streets.
