Bursting with character, this charming shepherd’s hut sits against a leafy backdrop on a working farm, enjoying fabulous rural views. Just 3.5 miles from the coast, and set amongst rolling countryside, it’s an idyllic location for a holiday for two. Pick up the B3162 from outside the farm to head straight into the heart of Bridport (2.5 miles), where you’ll find shops, amenities and eateries aplenty. Take short but steep walks up nearby Colmer’s Hill (4 miles) or Lewesdon Hill (3.5 miles) to be rewarded by dramatic 360-degree views, and enjoy days out at local places of interest including Symondsbury, Lyme Regis, Charmouth and Burton Bradstock, all easily accessible within 8 miles. For coastal adventures, join the South West Coast Path and take in highlights such as West Bay, Golden Cap and Eype Beach (within 5.5 miles).
This delightful shepherd’s hut sits alongside another similar property, accessed via a footpath. Climb the short set of steps up to the hut, and swing open the traditional stable door to enter into the open-plan living space. The hut has been designed with comfort and style in mind, with copper accents and hand-picked items lending it a homely feel. To the left, the cosy double bed occupies the end of the hut, with countryside views from the window, and a TV for cosy evening viewing. A comfortable loveseat with plump cushions offers space for relaxation in the warmth of the toasty electric fire, while a rustic wooden breakfast bar with fold-up chairs is perfect for dining while admiring the rural views. Tasty holiday meals can be prepared in the cleverly designed kitchen, where the rustic taps and sink add to the ambience. After long days out, freshen up in the boutique shower room to the right of the entrance, where copper and natural wood fixtures and fittings carry through the rustic vibe.
Outside, enjoy al fresco living late into the evening. The enclosed lawn is sheltered by trees in places, and features a fire pit which you can spark up and enjoy from the comfort of the furniture on the decking next to the hut. Pour yourself a golden-hour tipple as the sun goes down. An outdoor store is provided for boots and wellies, which are recommended for use during your stay.
