Christmas Markets in Dorset offer a lovely festive experience that are perfect for enjoying with the family. Shop for unique and unusual gifts, decorations, handmade trinkets, fantastic local produce, and enjoy entertainment and activities to really get you in the Christmas spirit. There are plenty of different Christmas markets and events across the county and we have listed a few of our favourites for 2018 below.
Enjoy almost a month of festivities in Weymouth at the Big Christmas event this year. There’s an ice rink, Santa’s Grotto, wide array of craft stalls, food stands and even real reindeer that bring Santa along to all the fun! A special interactive nativity scene is on display, plus a festive stage where you can enjoy entertainment from dancing to singing, and lots of great gift ideas in many of Weymouth’s shops and markets.
Inspired by German Markets, the Bournemouth Christmas Market features chalet stalls selling seasonal gifts, festive food, handmade gifts and treats. There are cosy bars, perfect for enjoying a warming mug of mulled wine and the chance to sample a Bratwurst, a traditional German sausage as well as roasted chestnuts and other delicious delicacies. Take a ride on the Victorian style carousel, enjoy a wide variety of entertainment on the large stage from bands to magicians and marvel at the nativity scene on display.
This one night only event is a popular festivity where the town of Dorchester really gets into the festive spirit with appearances from Father Christmas, late night shopping and pretty Christmas stalls. The authentic stalls offer a wide arrange of produce from mince pies to mulled wine and hog roasts. If you take a stroll over to the Corn Exchange there is a craft fair where you can pick up fantastic handmade gifts and trinkets.
