There is lots to look forward to in Dorset this winter – not least the huge variety of Christmas events in Bournemouth!
From pantomimes starring S Club 7 stars to new-for-2017 Christmas markets; we've rounded up nine of the best Bournemouth Christmas events:
This new event focuses on Alpine Markets, as opposed to the previous German-themed marketplaces in the town. In the centre of it all will be a two-storey, purpose-built Alpine Lodge with a selection of Christmas-themed beverages from local producers.

When? 16th November to 2nd January
Holidays are coming! The unique Coca-Cola Christmas truck, made famous by those iconic TV adverts, will be popping up at The Triangle for a couple of days. Make the most of it, take a selfie with it and enjoy either a Coca-Cola Classic, Diet Coke or Coca-Cola Zero Sugar.

When? 1st and 2nd December
Shops will open a little later to allow a little bonus shopping time this Christmas. There's also free parking in selected car parks on selected dates from the 16th November, particularly on Thursday evening and Sundays in the lead up to Christmas.

When? Thursdays from 29th November to 20th December / Sundays from 25th November to 23rd December
The middle of Bournemouth's Lower Gardens will be taken up by a real ice rink this Christmastime. It will be open daily (except Christmas Day) and there will also be festive treats including hot chocolate, mulled wine and freshly baked pizzas.

The renowned band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines end the year in Bournemouth with a concert that is set to include festive music, military marches, big band hits and popular showstoppers.

Santa's Grotto
Santa will be in his Grotto in the middle of Bournemouth for a month! Situated within the heart of Christmas Tree Wonderland, you can immerse yourself in this winter wonder where Santa will be waiting for you in his homely cottage.

When? 23rd November to 24th December
As every year, Bournemouth has some panto fun! Classic tale Sleeping Beauty is this year's Bournemouth Pavilion pantomime, with Eastenders star Rita Simons as Carabosse, Sarah-Jane Buckley from Hollyoaks as the good fairy and Noel Brodie as Silly Billy, all part of the stellar cast.

When? 8th December to 6th January
The Shelley Theatre presents the Charles Dickens classic; the story of old miser Ebenezer Scrooge who is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet-to-Come, as well as his old business partner Jacob Marley. Olivier Award winner Guy Masterson takes centre stage so this is one you won't want to miss!

When? 23rd November
This charity Christmas morning event sees up to 1,000 people charge into the sea in their finest fancy dress. This year will be the event's 11th year, and they've raised more than £100,000 for Macmillan Caring Locally over the years.
